Important safety information
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This page explains the most important risks of the treatments offered through Azura Well. It's general information, not medical advice, and does not replace your medication label or your provider's instructions. In an emergency, call 911.
Before you start, tell your provider about
Every prescription and over-the-counter medicine and supplement you take, any allergies, recent or planned surgery, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and your full personal and family medical history.
Weight care: Azura Start Path (injection, compounded medication) and Azura Dual Path (injection, compounded medication)
Compounded medication. Prepared and dispensed by VSDH, a state-licensed compounding pharmacy, under an individual prescription from a licensed provider. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. They are not generic versions of, and are not equivalent or interchangeable with, any FDA-approved brand-name product. Do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2 (MEN2); medicines in this class caused thyroid tumors in animal studies. Possible serious risks: pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar (higher with insulin or sulfonylureas), kidney problems from dehydration, changes in vision for people with diabetic eye disease, and allergic reactions. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are trying to conceive. Tell any surgeon or anesthetist you use this medicine. Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and tiredness. Get emergency help for severe stomach pain that won't go away, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck.
Women's health: Azura Balance Tablet (oral tablet, FDA-approved generic) and Azura Balance Patch (skin patch, FDA-approved generic)
Hormone therapy may increase the risk of stroke, blood clots, heart attack, breast cancer and dementia. If you have a uterus, estrogen-only therapy increases the risk of endometrial cancer, so your provider may add another medicine. Your provider uses the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed and reviews it with you regularly. Do not use if you have had breast cancer, a blood clot, stroke, heart attack, liver disease or unexplained vaginal bleeding, or if you are pregnant. Tell your provider about migraines, high blood pressure, smoking, gallbladder disease and any planned surgery. Common side effects: breast tenderness, headache, nausea, bloating and spotting. Get emergency help for chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, pain or swelling in one leg, sudden severe headache, vision changes, or weakness or numbness on one side of the body.
Men's sexual health: Azura Moment Tablet (oral tablet, FDA-approved generic) and Azura Daily Ease (oral tablet, FDA-approved generic) and Azura Weekend Ease (oral tablet, FDA-approved generic)
Never take with nitrate medicines for chest pain or a heart condition, or with "poppers". This can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your provider about heart problems, stroke, low or high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, or blood-pressure and prostate medicines (alpha-blockers). Get emergency help for chest pain, an erection lasting more than 4 hours, or sudden loss of vision or hearing. Common side effects: headache, flushing, indigestion, stuffy nose, back pain and muscle aches.
Hair restoration: Azura Root Guard (oral tablet, FDA-approved generic)
For men only. Women who are or may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets, because the medicine can harm a male baby. Possible side effects: lower sex drive, erection or ejaculation problems, breast tenderness or enlargement, and mood changes including depression; tell your provider straight away about any mood change. It can lower PSA blood test results, so tell any clinician who checks your prostate that you take it. Results take 3 to 6 months and fade if you stop.
Hair restoration: Azura Root Renew (oral tablet, FDA-approved medication, off-label use)
Prescription only. Uses an FDA-approved medication; its use for hair thinning is off-label and is decided by a licensed provider. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, or if you have low blood pressure, heart failure, a recent heart attack or chest pain, or a rare adrenal tumour (pheochromocytoma). Possible serious risks: low blood pressure, a fast or irregular heartbeat and fluid retention. Common side effects: unwanted hair growth on the face or body, temporary shedding in the first weeks, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles, and headache. Get urgent care for chest pain, a fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, shortness of breath, or sudden weight gain or swelling. Tell your provider about blood pressure medicines, water pills and any medicine for chest pain or erections.
Hair restoration: Azura Root Serum (topical scalp solution, compounded medication)
Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or could become pregnant: one ingredient can harm an unborn baby, so anyone who is or may become pregnant should avoid touching the treated scalp. Do not apply to broken, sunburned or irritated skin. Common side effects: scalp irritation or itching, dryness or flaking, sensitivity to sun, temporary shedding, and unwanted hair where the solution touches skin. Rare risks: changes in sexual function, mood changes, and dizziness or a fast heartbeat if too much is absorbed. Get urgent care for chest pain, a fast heartbeat, fainting, severe scalp swelling, or thoughts of self-harm. Tell your provider about other scalp or skin treatments, other hair-loss medicines and blood pressure medicines.
Add-on your provider may offer in your account
Azura Calm Melts (FDA-approved generic dissolving tablet, for weight care patients only): may cause headache, constipation or tiredness; rarely, heart-rhythm changes. Tell your provider about heart-rhythm problems or medicines that affect heart rhythm.

Prescriptions are issued only if a licensed provider from LocumTele determines they are appropriate. Compounded medications are prepared and dispensed by VSDH, a state-licensed compounding pharmacy. Azura Well is a telehealth platform. It is not a pharmacy and does not compound or manufacture medications.
